Netflix is using the phrase “city of love” to describe the show’s setting which clearly hints at Paris being the central backdrop for Berlin‘s upcoming robbery. However, our protagonist gets distracted by an unknown woman’s footsteps and upon returning to the model, Berlin finds a mini paper figure of a woman, potentially alluding to one of his many previous love interests. ![]() Suddenly, the camera pans around and reveals the hand belongs to non other than Berlin himself. The camera pans inside the vault, giving us a peak at the treasures it contains, when the aforementioned hand suddenly removes a crimson gem. We see a car arriving at the bank’s gate, a mini-figure of a man entering the bank, followed by images of the bank’s layout and a vault. ![]() The newly revealed announcement teaser kicks off with a highly elaborate replica of a bank, with an unidentified man’s hand walking us through the whole affair. Alonso’s character is technically dead in the present Money Heist timeline, meaning this spin-off series will likely be set before the events of the main show, uncovering the life of the jewel thief before he teamed up with his brother, the Professor (Álvaro Morte) and the rest of the gang to carry out Spain’s largest ever heist. The streamer dropped the news with a brief announcement trailer teasing the TV series‘ plot, which admittedly had been under a cloud of contention.
